My first time!?!
Here is my first post. There is no topic except that it is the first one for me. However, if you would like to talk about other firsts you have had, I think it would be fun! I am just learning how this goes. I haven't learned how to post a photo yet. I haven't read the "suggested" reading yet. I only have a little time in the evenings to post and check out other blogs. Be gentle with me, I'm a virgin.

You had a comment on a blog which was my sister's(imamicrobiostudentbatch2008.blogspot.com) I tried checking on your profile and your blog. And i'm newbie here just like you. I just thought that since we in the same field, we could jive with each other. We could share ideas and knowledge. And we can learn how things work here on blogger. lol
i still have, more or less, 5 years. and more years to add for my specializations. i am proficient in english and in my own native tongue which is tagalog. i was using tagalog with some of the sentences there on my blog. i could put translations in the bottom, if you want. :)
i had a good laugh with that joke. thank you.
by the way, you could leave a message on my tagboard. :)
thanks.
that's all for now.

Hey Vanne! Sounds like you have plenty of learning ahead of you. Is your sister planning on being a doctor also? I have heard of Tagalog. When I saw it on your site I thought, "That looks like Tagalog." (really, I did. see my profile. languages is one of my interests.) But I didn't think that Tagalog was the the language of the Phillipines. That's where you are isn't it? Anyway, if it is, I was wrong. I was wrong once before, so I know how it feels. But I did think Tagalog was the language of some other Pacific Islands. I think it would be fun to have translations if you happen to use Tagalog. I wouldn't know about pronunciation. I could probably find some audio somewhere. I have blogged with another blogger, James, who has posted some audio blogs. I have no idea how that is done.
I am having a great time communicating with people all over the place. I think it is the next thing that will bring the world together. People used to travel on foot and by boat. Communication and learning about other cultures was very slow. Now I can learn about life in the Phillipines or other places in the world right from the computer in my home. Then I can make and develop new relationships. It is my belief that people are the same all over the world. It is just cultural and or religious differences that are sometimes difficult to bridge. Right now there is a big cultural and religious gap between the west and the middle east. I hope that communication in this way can bring people to the realization that we can all help each other rather than overthrow each other.
What are you currently studying in preparation to be a doctor? Is your family proud and supportive of your goals? Where are you from anyway? OK, I guess that is enough questions for now. Thanks for replying to my comment.
I found your tagboard. I'll try posting a comment on the Heart and Soul site. It looks interesting. It looks like the deep and searching side of Vanessa. I look forward to reading more of what you have written and more about you.
blog ya later,

Yeah, the three of us aspire of becoming a doctor. I've got 2 siblings- Sabrina (the one who takes up Microbiology as her pre-med) and Ornella (who's taking up Physical Therapy).
Tagalog is our primary language here in the Philippines although there are numerous dialects due to the thousands of islands that comprise the country as an archipelago.
I have taken a four-year course which is Medical Technology prior to getting into Medicine proper. Right now, what was basic concepts in my pre-med course, is the whole and thorough studying of the subjects, such as anatomy or physiology.
Since childhood, my parents had always recommended of going into medicine and becoming a doctor. I got even more inspired by my late grandfather who died from cancer. And a few more instances I have experienced in my life. To help somebody is something. To save a life is even more.
I guess that's it?
Thanks for your patience of replying to my messages.
Take care always. It's a joy to have you around.
Vanessa
